Cabin Air Filter Replacement

If it’s allergy season, you know all too well what poor air quality feels like. The cabin air filter in your vehicle protects you from allergens and dust that may agitate you, and it does need to be replaced periodically. At our Winston-Salem service center, we’re happy to take out your old, dusty air filter and replace it with a clean new one that will do a better job of keeping irritants out of your car, truck, van, or SUV.

Signs It’s Time for a New Cabin Air Filter

Some manufacturers recommend replacing your air filter every 12,000-15,000 miles, but there are some exceptions. Here are some signs to watch for:

  • Weak Climate Control: When you turn on the heat or the air conditioning and the air is not coming out as strongly as it should be, that may be a sign that the cabin air filter is dirty and clogged. You may notice this if your windows get foggy and stay that way in spite of attempting to balance it out with the vents.
  • Bad Smell: If the interior of your vehicle has been smelling less-than-fresh lately, check the air filter. If the barrier between your vents and the outside world is dirty, that could be the culprit.
  • Agitated Allergies: If you can’t find reprieve from allergies even in your vehicle, it’s probably because there are plenty of allergens in your air due to lack of a working cabin air filter. Be sure to maintain high air quality in your vehicle by replacing this component regularly!
